UAE’s Lifeline to Lebanon: 18th Aid Plane Delivers Vital Medical Supplies Amidst Crisis

  The United Arab Emirates has dispatched its 18th aid aircraft carrying 40 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Lebanon as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign. This ongoing initiative, launched in early October, aims to provide critical food, medical, and shelter supplies to the Lebanese population, who continue to face severe hardships due to ongoing conflict. In close collaboration with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), UAE humanitarian organizations are playing a pivotal role in delivering life-saving aid to Lebanon’s vulnerable communities. Hans Grundberg, the United Nations (UN) Special Envoy for Yemen, was greeted by Dr. Anwar Gargash, the President of the UAE's diplomatic adviser.

 The current developments in the Yemeni issue and international efforts to find a peaceful resolution were topics of discussion between the two parties during the conference.

 The recent negotiations by Grundberg and other international parties to extend the cease-fire in Yemen and reach a permanent cease-fire were also discussed at the meeting. It was also decided to encourage the involved parties to resume talks and find a peaceful solution.

 According to Dr. Gargash, the UAE is in favour of international measures to preserve Yemen's stability and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, who are dealing with terrible humanitarian situations.

 He also praised Saudi Arabia's contribution to the UN and the international community's efforts to find a diplomatic solution to the issue. He also mentioned the Yemeni government's favourable response to the UN's recommendations for prolonging the cease-fire and reaffirmed his support for the Yemeni Presidential Council.

 Grundberg praised the UAE for its important role when discussing the efforts of all Yemeni parties and the international community to achieve a truce.
