China protests US plans to revoke license from China Telecom US affiliate

The Chinese authorities strongly protest the intention of the American side to revoke the license from the branch of the leading Chinese telecommunications corporation China Telecom in the United States, since such a discriminatory measure is contrary to generally accepted market standards.  This was announced on Friday by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Zhao Lijian. “We have already paid attention to the relevant information and express our strong protest,” he said at a regular briefing. “We insist that the US side comply with the principles of a market economy and stop making mistakes, under the pretext of protecting its own national security, politicize economic issues. The US should stop  use pressure on China companies to provide fair, equitable and non-discriminatory conditions for Chinese investors.
