UAE: Eid Al Adha 2023 is expected to begin on June 28

  Eid Al Adha, the second main holiday celebrated in Islam, is expected to begin on June 28 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It falls on the tenth day of Dhul Hijjah, the last month in the Islamic (Hijri) calendar. Employees in the private and public sectors in the UAE might get a six-day break in June as astronomers predicted Eid Al Adha would take place on June 28. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, said that Dhul Hijjah or "The Month of the Pilgrimage" might start on June 19. Al Jarwan said, “Eid Al Adha will likely be on Wednesday, June 28, and Arafat Day, which is one day before Eid, will be on Tuesday, June 27.” The Moon-sighting committee of the UAE will confirm the exact date of Eid. The UAE Cabinet has allocated four days of holidays for Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha. Eid Al Adha coincides with the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest city in Islam.
