  The commercial operation of the third reactor at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant marks a significant milestone for the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC). This accomplishment brings the UAE one step closer to achieving the goals of its Peaceful Nuclear Energy Programme, which aims to position the country as a leader in the emissions-free energy sector. The Barakah Nuclear Power Plant is managed by qualified and licensed Emirati cadres who are gaining valuable reactor operation expertise. The Director of Reactor Operation at Barakah, Abdullah Al Menhali, emphasized the critical role that young male and female employees play in the operation process.   Another Director of Reactor Operations at the plant, Saif Al Bahr Al Katbi, expressed pride in being one of the first generations of Emiratis to operate the country's peaceful nuclear reactors.
