 The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has made a monumental leap in renewable energy with the launch of the world’s first 24/7 solar and battery storage giga-scale project. Announced during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit, this innovative initiative will revolutionize the global energy sector by delivering uninterrupted clean power on an unprecedented scale. A collaborative effort between Masdar and the Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) , the project combines a massive 5.2GW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant with a cutting-edge 19GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) .
