UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and his wife Carmen Iohannis were welcomed to the UAE by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed during their official visit. The objective of the visit was to deepen the bilateral ties between Romania and the UAE and to look into potential areas of future cooperation.

In the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed his valued guests for the official reception ceremony. Senior government representatives from both nations, including Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, national security advisor, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, attended the ceremony, which was a magnificent occasion.  

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and President Klaus Iohannis talked about measures to improve bilateral ties between the two countries, notably in the commercial, investment, and cultural exchange areas, during their discussions. The two leaders stressed the value of fortifying alliances and looking into fresh opportunities for collaboration.

President Klaus Iohannis thanked President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for the gracious welcome and hospitality shown to him and his entourage while being accompanied by a high-level delegation. Government officials and representatives from several industries, including as energy, trade, and investment, were part of the trip. 

The UAE has made incredible strides in a number of sectors, including science, technology, and innovation. Romania is interested in benefiting from the UAE's experience in these domains, said President Klaus Iohannis.

The team led by President Klaus Iohannis's visit highlights the growing significance of Romania's relations with the United Arab Emirates. The visit gave a chance to explore new collaboration opportunities and enhance current alliances because the two countries have similar values and objectives.
