UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launches '1 Billion Meals Endowment' campaign to feed the underprivileged worldwide during Ramadan

 In keeping with the Holy Month of Ramadan, Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has started the "1 Billion Meals Endowment" campaign to provide food aid for underprivileged populations around the world. The project aims to create the biggest endowment fund for sustainable food aid, with a target of serving one billion meals across 100 nations. 

To achieve this goal, the campaign has announced five sample channels for contributions, including online donations, bank transfers, and SMS messages. The ad emphasizes that any contribution, no matter how modest, may make a major impact. 

Sheikh Mohammed is the leader of the "1 Billion Meals Endowment" campaign, a global project built on the principles and goals of the Muhammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global initiatives. The campaign asks all members of the community to take part in humanitarian efforts to work towards establishing food security for those in need. The campaign's ultimate goal is to develop a food safety net for vulnerable populations globally.
