Mohammed Rashid’s Initiative ‘1 Billion Meal’ Collaboration With World Food Programme To Help Refugees In Bangladesh

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Minister Of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as well as the ruler of Dubai, launched the ‘1 Billion Meals’ initiative to help underprivileged people in Bangladesh.
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) is
the name behind this initiative. It is launched in collaboration with WFP
(World Food Programme), an international organization within the United Nations
(UN) that provides food assistance across the world.
Mohammed Rashid’s ‘1 Billion Meals’ helped the
underprivileged and undernourished people in Bangladesh. Under the initiative,
the UAE distributed 5.4 million meals in Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh.
The UAE is always committed to helping people and countries
in need. The UAE has always provided humanitarian aid to countries in need.
MBRGI has provided support to around 50 countries during the crisis.
Food assistance is directly transferred to needy people in
the form of quick redeemable smart vouchers. The recipients of the vouchers can
buy essential food items from WFP-certified shops and supermarkets.
Reportedly, MBRGI has always provided humanitarian support
to countries in need. It launched instantaneously redeemable smart vouchers to
help underprivileged communities, such as refugees and internally displaced
people. From ‘Bread For All’ to ‘1 Million Meals’ helped people in need. The
‘Bread For All initiative’ helped people in need in the UAE. They were able to
eat food no matter what condition they were in. Under the initiative, the
authorities distributed bread free to poor people across the region.

Reportedly, 20,000 people in Cox’s Bazar camps in Bangladesh
received aid from ‘1 Billion Meals’. People bought essential food products from
local vendors using vouchers. Cox’s Bazar camps are inhabited mostly by
Rohingya refugees. They reportedly came to Bangladesh after facing persecution
and violence in Myanmar. The refugees are in need of urgent humanitarian
assistance.
