UAE Extends Lifeline to Sudanese Refugees in Uganda’s Kiryandongo Camp

 The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reinforced its reputation as a global leader in humanitarian aid with the distribution of 30,000 food baskets to Sudanese refugees in Uganda’s Kiryandongo camp. This initiative, benefitting nearly 100,000 displaced individuals, represents the second phase of the UAE’s sustained humanitarian efforts, which commenced in April 2024. A Lifeline for Refugees The Kiryandongo camp, home to thousands of Sudanese refugees who fled the ongoing crisis in their homeland, has seen its inhabitants struggle with food insecurity and basic needs. The UAE’s food aid has provided a critical lifeline, addressing immediate food shortages and offering hope to a vulnerable population. The distribution event was overseen by UAE Ambassador to Uganda, Abdullah Al Shamsi, who was joined by Ugandan officials and civil society representatives. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Talk About Regional Concerns and Bilateral Ties

The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and UAE  President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently spoke over the phone about bolstering bilateral ties and advancing cooperation between the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Important international and regional problems of shared interest were also discussed by the leaders.


The two leaders discussed the state of affairs in the Middle East and voiced their concerns on the serious risks to the security and stability of the area during the call. They stressed how crucial it is for all sides to act with the utmost moderation in order to avoid the region being hit hard by the fallout from a larger conflict. 

Both  Leaders  emphasized the necessity of stepping up efforts to bring about an instant ceasefire, guarantee the full protection of civilians in compliance with international humanitarian law, and make sure that enough humanitarian aid is continuously and unhinderedly delivered to the Gaza population.

Also the need for international intervention to stop the crisis in the region from getting worse. In order to promote the security and stability of the area and its citizens, they also underlined the necessity of a clear political path towards a just and complete peace based on the two-state solution.
