To combat food waste during Ramadan, the UAE launches the Food Rescue Program.

  The National Food Loss and Waste Initiative, or ne'ma, has started the Food Rescue Programme as part of its 'Count Your ne'ma' campaign in an effort to prevent food waste and advance community welfare during Ramadan. The project, which is timed to coincide with Zayed Humanitarian Day, aims to encourage small behavioral adjustments in order to reduce food loss and waste while also increasing awareness of the significance of doing so. It also fits with the official goal of the United Arab Emirates to cut food waste in half by 2030.
