Philippine President Bongbong Marcos to Enhance Ties with UAE in Strategic Visit

 On November 26, 2024, Philippine President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. will travel to Abu Dhabi for a one-day working visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, underscores both nations’ commitment to fostering mutual cooperation and exploring new opportunities. A Diplomatic Priority The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) emphasized the importance of this trip, highlighting its potential to yield significant agreements that benefit both countries. “The productive dialogues between President Marcos and the UAE leadership are expected to deepen bilateral ties and create avenues for collaboration in areas of shared interest,” the PCO stated. UAE Retains Its Leading Place in the 2024 Brand Finance Soft Power Index

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sustained its ranking as the tenth most powerful country in the world in the Brand Finance Soft Power Index 2024, demonstrating its reputation and worldwide influence once more. The UAE has been included among the top 10 soft powers in the world for the second year running, confirming its position as a major actor on the international scene.

Several world leaders and prominent personalities, including Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, Eliza Jean Reid, the First Lady of Iceland, and former British Prime Minister Sir John Major, were present at the yearly Global Soft Power Summit in London when the news was made.   

The United Arab Emirates has seen an impressive rise in both its ranking and position in the global index. The study, which received responses from more than 170,000 people in 193 UN member states, has often acknowledged the UAE's attempts to preserve its influence and shape opinions around the world.  

UAE's dedication to upholding its standing and influence internationally is demonstrated by its steady performance in the Brand Finance Soft Power Index. The United Arab Emirates maintains its position as a preeminent soft power in the Middle East and beyond by means of strategic initiatives and proactive involvement, thereby molding global perceptions and cultivating amiable connections.
