UAE Extends Lifeline to Sudanese Refugees in Uganda’s Kiryandongo Camp

 The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reinforced its reputation as a global leader in humanitarian aid with the distribution of 30,000 food baskets to Sudanese refugees in Uganda’s Kiryandongo camp. This initiative, benefitting nearly 100,000 displaced individuals, represents the second phase of the UAE’s sustained humanitarian efforts, which commenced in April 2024. A Lifeline for Refugees The Kiryandongo camp, home to thousands of Sudanese refugees who fled the ongoing crisis in their homeland, has seen its inhabitants struggle with food insecurity and basic needs. The UAE’s food aid has provided a critical lifeline, addressing immediate food shortages and offering hope to a vulnerable population. The distribution event was overseen by UAE Ambassador to Uganda, Abdullah Al Shamsi, who was joined by Ugandan officials and civil society representatives. Relief Work Done by the United Arab Emirates to Rebuild Lives Affected by the Syria Earthquake

This  2024 A new chapter of the United Arab Emirates' development and humanitarian efforts to assist individuals impacted by the Syrian earthquake has begun. With the intention of improving the impacted areas, these initiatives include the introduction of hundreds of housing units as well as the upkeep of infrastructure, health, and educational institutions.      

The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has opened 300 housing units in three locations as part of Operation Gallant Knight 2. This is a portion of a bigger project that will serve 1,500 individuals in the Latakia Governorate by constructing 1,000 dwelling units. At the launch, the ERC delegation, under the leadership of Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, emphasized the UAE's dedication to aiding the Syrian people.  

Rashid Al Mansouri also underlined that the ERC's dedication to fulfilling its humanitarian duty to the Syrian people is reflected in these programs. Subsequent phases of these projects, which are presently in progress in other areas, will open in the near future, adding to the UAE's support for the Syrian people.  .
