EDGE and Brazilian Navy Join Forces to Develop Advanced Anti-Drone Systems

UAE: Temperature to hit 44°C in coming days

The temperatures in the UAE will reach the mid-40s during the next few days, as predicted by the forecasters. The National Centre of Meteorology predicted on Wednesday that the major coastal towns of Abu Dhabi and Dubai will experience highs of 44°C as summer approaches.

The eastern emirate of Fujairah, whose maximum temperatures are still primarily in the 30s, is the only exception. Sharjah,Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah are all anticipated to have similar weather.

The UAE's hottest temperature on Wednesday was 44.1°C at Al Quaa, Al Ain. In the Al Dhafra district of Abu Dhabi emirate, Bada Dafas recorded a temperature of 44.9°C the day before, while Al Shawamekh in Abu Dhabi city registered 43.8°C on Monday.

13.2°C was the lowest temperature on Monday, and it was at Raknah, Al Ain. By Wednesday, it had soared to 19.8°C. Despite the daily highs, the NCM predicted in its May prediction that the average temperature would be 32.3°C.

The NCM's May temperature records range from the lowest of 9°C in Jebel Jais in 2005 to the highest of 50.2°C in 2009.

The NCM stated in its five-day advisory that Thursday might see periods of partly overcast weather with temperatures as high as 45°C and as low as 20°C. Winds from the south to the west might gust as high as 35 kph.

By the afternoon on Friday, the east is expected to see partly cloudy weather. In certain coastal places, it may be humid on Friday night and Saturday early.

Similar weather was predicted over the weekend, but according to the NCM, temperatures may drop in certain places on Monday while winds of up to 40 kph may produce dust clouds.
