UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. Bollywood stars in the UAE: Abu Dhabi hosts IIFA Awards 2023

Bollywood stars will come together in the United Arab Emirates as IIFA (International Indian Film Academy Awards) will take place in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.

The UAE’s capital will host the 23rd edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards on Friday. The event will take place in Yas Island in Abu Dhabi for two days.

The event has been organised in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Miral, a real estate developer in Abu Dhabi.

Saleh Mohamed Saleh Al Geziry, the Director-General of Tourism of DCT Abu Dhabi, said that the UAE was pleased to host the IIFA Awards 2023.

Taghrid Alsaeed, an Executive Director at Miral, expressed happiness for hosting the award function. Alsaeed said that the event highlights the company’s commitment to positioning Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island as a global destination for entertainment. Yas Island is one of the largest tourism projects in the UAE capital.

Farah Khan Kunder and Rajkummar Rao will host Sobha IIFA Rocks on Friday to kickstart the event. Singers like Amit Trivedi, Badshah, Sunidhi Chauhan, Nucleya, and Sukhbir Singh, will perform on the first day of the event.

The Nexa IIFA Awards is scheduled for Saturday. Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal will host the award function. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez, actor Varun Dhawan, actresses Kriti Sanon, Nora Fatehi and Rakul Preet Singh will perform on stage at the award function on Saturday.

IIFA Awards is one of Bollywood’s biggest celebrations. The event celebrates cinema, music, fashion, and culture. It will honour celebrities with awards.
