UAE Launches "Today for Tomorrow: National Day Mangrove Project" to Fulfill Pledge of Planting 100 Million Mangroves by 2030

UAE

The United Arab Emirates is once again taking a significant step towards fulfilling its commitment to sustainability and the environment. The Organising Committee of the 51st National Day Celebrations has launched the “Today for Tomorrow: National Day Mangrove Project”. The project aims to plant 100 million mangroves by 2030, a pledge made by the country at COP27. The initiative seeks to restore and enhance the mangrove forests along the UAE’s coasts, in line with the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The National Day Mangrove Project will begin with planting 10,000 mangrove trees featured in the 51st National Day celebrations across different locations in the seven emirates. The project invites everyone that calls the UAE home, from nature and planting enthusiasts to environmentalists, to join the collective efforts that will begin on May 11th at 10:00 am in Yas Beach, Abu Dhabi. Interested volunteers can register through http://uaetreeplanting.com.

The National Day Mangrove Project is not just about planting trees, but it’s a step towards a more sustainable future that we all need to work towards. This initiative is a great way to bring the community together and raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. The UAE has always been a leader in promoting sustainable practices, and the National Day Mangrove Project is a great example of the country’s dedication to preserving the environment. The project’s success will create a better future for generations to come, and it’s an opportunity for everyone to contribute to making the UAE a greener and more sustainable place to live.
