UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. A Humanitarian Action that Benefits the People of Sudan

 


The UAE has so far provided $130 million in humanitarian aid to Sudan, established airlift aid  and supported refugee camps in Chad and South Sudan.

 Such a Life-saving food campaign in Sudan that  helps  Sudanese  to ease  crisis

 This donation will enable the UAE to help vulnerable people  at risk of falling into starvation.

 Since the beginning of the crisis this year, the UAE has established an air bridge between Sudan and neighboring Chad to provide assistance and support  to the Sudanese people and to alleviate the severity of the humanitarian crisis in Sudan and neighboring countries.

 The UAE has also provided $130 million worth of humanitarian aid and 9,500 tons of food and medicine through the deployment of 148 aid aircraft.

 In addition, it has dispatched a ship loaded with around 1,000 tons of urgently needed relief supplies.

 The UAE's support for the Sudanese people reflects the country's unwavering commitment  to providing humanitarian assistance and  support to the brotherly Sudanese people, addressing humanitarian challenges and providing continued support and assistance  to Sudan.

  UN officials, including Martin Griffiths, Filippo Grandi and Cindy McCain, thanked the UAE for its support and recognized the UAE's important role in the humanitarian response. 


Martin Griffiths, the Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, stated: "We are deeply grateful to the Government and the people of the United Arab Emirates for your generous support of US$70 million to help bring relief to the people of Sudan through the United Nations. With this allocation, we can bolster our lifesaving support to families and communities caught up in Sudan's unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Your compassion and solidarity with people in need across the world exemplify the power of global cooperation in making a tangible difference in the lives of the most vulnerable."
