UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. UAE's Active Diplomacy at the UN General Assembly Strengthens Global Relations

 


This  2023 In a significant display of diplomatic engagement, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed met with key leaders like Yemen's President Rashad al-Alimi and Bosnia and Herzegovina's Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic. These meetings underlined the UAE's dedication to regional peace and conflict resolution.    

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed also met with Donika Grvalla-Schwarz, Kosovo's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, to discuss the UAE's interest in developing connections with emerging states.

Also continued the UAE's proactive approach to international relations by meeting separately with Giorgos Gerapetritis, Greece's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jan Lipavsk, Czech Republic's Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Alva Baptiste, St. Lucia's Minister of Foreign Affairs. These engagements demonstrated the UAE's extensive involvement in a wide range of geographic regions.  

Furthermore, in a trilateral discussion, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed met with Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America. The discussions centred on the critical importance of a long-term political solution in Yemen, highlighting the UAE's commitment to regional peace and stability.

The UAE's diplomacy at the UN General Assembly highlights the country's commitment to supporting international collaboration and finding solutions to major global issues as it deepens its overseas contacts and takes an active role in addressing global concerns.
