UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. Restoring Cairo's Suleyman Pasha Al Khadim Mosque

 


This enormous repair effort, which began in 2018 and resulted in an investment of around 5 million Egyptian pounds (just over $161,000), gives this historic monument fresh life. The Suleyman Pasha Al Khadim Mosque, also known as the Sariya Mosque, is a significant element of Cairo's iconic Saladin Citadel and plays an important role in Egypt's history.  

The Suleyman Pasha Al Khadim Mosque, built in 1528 AD, has withstood the test of time, retaining its architectural and cultural significance. It was designated as an Egyptian heritage site in 1951, confirming its significance in the nation's historical tapestry.

The repair project was extensive, covering numerous structural and aesthetic aspects of the mosque. It included the strengthening and cleaning of the mosque's stone facades, as well as the attentive maintenance of its tower and the restoration of the distinctive marble cladding gracing its walls.  

The successful reopening of this old mosque demonstrates Egypt's commitment to conserving its cultural heritage. It invites both locals and tourists to discover the subtle beauty and historical value of this amazing location.
