UAE Tops Humanitarian Aid Contributions to Gaza Amid Ongoing Crisis

The UAE has solidified its position as a global leader in humanitarian aid, emerging as the top donor to Gaza during the ongoing crisis. Responding promptly to the humanitarian emergency, the UAE focused on critical sectors, delivering aid by air, land, and sea. According to the German Press Agency (dpa), citing data from the Financial Tracking Service of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the UAE contributed $828 million to Gaza between October 2023 and November 2024. This accounted for 42 percent of the total global aid provided to Palestinians during this period.

In 2024 alone, the UAE directed significant funding to key areas. The country contributed $111.8 million to food security, ensuring vital sustenance through campaigns like "Tarahum - for Gaza," which provided food parcels and supplies. Aid shipments carried thousands of tonnes of food and relief items via air and sea, alleviating hunger and meeting immediate needs. Additionally, $18.3 million was allocated to health initiatives, including the provision of medicines, ambulances, and operational support for medical centers in conflict zones.

The UAE also prioritized emergency relief, allocating $94.7 million to deliver essential materials such as shelter supplies, medical equipment, and nutritional support. A further $24.2 million was invested in logistics, facilitating efficient coordination and transportation of aid through air and maritime routes.

This multifaceted approach underscores the UAE's unwavering commitment to addressing humanitarian crises with efficiency and compassion, cementing its role as a key player in global relief efforts.
