UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. UAE President Awards Zayed Second Medal to Chile’s Minister of Environment

 In a gesture of recognition for her remarkable contributions to the success of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has conferred the prestigious Zayed the Second Medal on Professor Maisa Rojas, Chile’s Minister of Environment.



The award ceremony took place during a reception hosted by Minister Rojas at the Ministry of Environment headquarters in Santiago, Chile, in honor of Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Chile.

Acknowledging Leadership in Climate Action

Minister Rojas expressed her gratitude to President Sheikh Mohamed for this esteemed recognition, highlighting the pivotal role of the UAE Consensus forged during COP28. She commended the UAE for its leadership in shaping a global framework for climate action and sustainability, which has become a cornerstone for collaborative efforts to combat climate change.

The UAE Consensus, achieved during COP28, emphasized the importance of uniting nations to advance sustainability and address pressing environmental challenges. Rojas lauded the UAE’s commitment to fostering global partnerships and its influential role in driving the climate agenda forward.

Ambassador Al Neyadi congratulated Minister Rojas on receiving the Zayed Second Medal and emphasized the need for stronger international partnerships to implement sustainability on a broader scale.
