UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. UAE President and Turkish Foreign Minister Discuss Strengthening Ties and Regional Stability

 His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, recently held discussions with Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, focusing on enhancing cooperation between the UAE and Turkey and addressing pressing regional developments.



At the outset of the meeting, Minister Hakan Fidan conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey, along with wishes for the UAE’s continued progress and prosperity. In response, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed extended his greetings to President Erdogan and expressed hopes for Turkey’s ongoing growth and development.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

The discussions emphasized the strategic partnership between the two nations, exploring avenues to bolster collaboration across various sectors. The UAE and Turkey continue to demonstrate mutual commitment to fostering economic, political, and cultural ties that serve the interests of their peoples.

Regional Developments and Peace Efforts

The two leaders exchanged views on the evolving situation in the Middle East, underscoring the urgency of intensifying efforts to prevent the escalation of conflicts threatening regional security and stability. They advocated for a clear and viable path to peace that guarantees stability and security for all nations in the region.

Focus on Syria

The discussions also addressed the ongoing developments in Syria, reiterating the shared commitment of both nations to support Syria’s stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Both sides expressed their unwavering support for initiatives aimed at fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people for peace, security, and development.

The meeting was attended by prominent UAE officials, including His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; His Excellency Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council; and His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State.

This high-level dialogue reaffirms the UAE and Turkey's dedication to strengthening bilateral relations and collaborating on strategies to ensure regional peace and stability.
