UAE’s Lifeline to Lebanon: 18th Aid Plane Delivers Vital Medical Supplies Amidst Crisis

  The United Arab Emirates has dispatched its 18th aid aircraft carrying 40 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Lebanon as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign. This ongoing initiative, launched in early October, aims to provide critical food, medical, and shelter supplies to the Lebanese population, who continue to face severe hardships due to ongoing conflict. In close collaboration with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), UAE humanitarian organizations are playing a pivotal role in delivering life-saving aid to Lebanon’s vulnerable communities. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) has once again proved its commitment to humanitarian operations by providing Dh43 million ($11.7 million) in direct food relief to Gaza. This effort, in conjunction with the UN World Food Programme (WFP), aims to help over one million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip amidst the current violence.

The gift was disclosed during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, when MBRGI made agreements with the WFP to expand its assistance to individuals affected by violence. The latest payment takes MBRGI's total financial support to the WFP to Dh320 million since 2021.  

This contribution is part of the UAE's continuous efforts to help Palestinians and alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. The deal with the World Food Programme (WFP) will greatly increase the reach of direct food assistance, giving critical help to one million people in Gaza.

MBRGI's proactive engagement in helping humanitarian causes demonstrates the UAE's commitment to promoting positive change on a global scale. The country's continued commitment to giving aid reflects its beliefs and principles, highlighting the significance of addressing immediate humanitarian needs.
