Armenian President Visits UAE: Strengthening Ties Between Nations

  In a significant diplomatic move, the President of Armenia has embarked on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), aiming to bolster bilateral relations, expand economic cooperation, and foster cultural exchange between the two nations. The high-level visit marks a new chapter in Armenia-UAE relations, showcasing a mutual commitment to deepening political dialogue and exploring opportunities in trade, technology, energy, tourism, and investment. During his visit, the Armenian President held discussions with top Emirati leaders, including His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) has once again proved its commitment to humanitarian operations by providing Dh43 million ($11.7 million) in direct food relief to Gaza. This effort, in conjunction with the UN World Food Programme (WFP), aims to help over one million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip amidst the current violence.

The gift was disclosed during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, when MBRGI made agreements with the WFP to expand its assistance to individuals affected by violence. The latest payment takes MBRGI's total financial support to the WFP to Dh320 million since 2021.

This contribution is part of the UAE's continuous efforts to help Palestinians and alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. The deal with the World Food Programme (WFP) will greatly increase the reach of direct food assistance, giving critical help to one million people in Gaza.
