UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. UAE: Man fined Dh15,000 for hitting another driver's car

 

A driver in Al Ain has been ordered to pay Dh15,000 to a young man after the latter insulted him with hand signals and damaged his car on purpose while it was on the main route.

According to official court records, the Arabman sued the driver and demanded that he compensate him for the physical and emotional harm that the incident caused him.

The plaintiff emphasised that the defendant intentionally swerved and struck his car while he was travelling in Al Ain. The driver, according to the victim, allegedly insulted him with hand motions meant to scare and discredit him.

The driver was previously found guilty of threatening the plaintiff's life when he hit his automobile by the Al Ain criminal court. Furthermore found guilty of insulting the plaintiff as the male.

Afterwards, seeking recompense, the man sued him in civil court. The defendant was ordered to compensate the plaintiff Dh15,000 for the tangible losses he incurred as a result of the defendant's collision with his vehicle by the Al Ain civil court of first instance after hearing from both parties.

All additional accusations made against the defendant were rejected by the court. Additionally, the guy was instructed to cover the plaintiff's legal costs.
