Amber Heard makes first Instagram post since Johnny Depp trial

Amber Heard, a famous American actress, is in the limelight once again after a year of her controversial and much-publicized defamation trial with former husband and famous Hollywood actor Johnny Depp.

The actress made her first Instagram post since the much-publicized defamation trial. She described how she felt about her return. The actress made her first public appearance at the 69th Taormina Film Festival in Italy.

On Instagram, Amber Heard posted a picture of herself from the prestigious festival, which she attended to promote her film “In the Fire.” She posted the picture on Instagram on June 30, which marked a year since the final verdict of the defamation trial was announced. Her last picture was posted in December.

While posting her latest picture, she wrote on Instagram, "Thank you for such an incredibly warm reception at the Taormina Film Festival for my latest movie In the Fire. It was an unforgettable weekend. #InTheFire.”

In an interview with Deadline, Connor Allyn, the director of Amber Heard's film, said, "I am so happy that Amber went through something so awful and it didn't change her as a person. She is still the shining light that we explained earlier and to go through something that terrible and be able to come out the other side and be whole."

The defamation trial between Heard and Depp lasted from April to June 2022, with a seven-person jury ruling in favour of Depp, however, Heard won one of her three counterclaims.

Heard and Depp divorced in 2016. They went to court over an op-ed, which Heard published for The Washington Post in 2018. In the article, she discussed surviving domestic violence without naming Depp. Depp sued for $50 million in damages, claiming that the article impacted his image. During the trial, the jury said that Heard acted with actual malice while writing her op-ed.
