Age and Experience: The Vital Role of Seasoned Doctors in Jordan's Medical Profession

Jordan's Medical Profession

In a nation where the average age hovers around 24, Jordan's medical field stands out with a unique trend. While younger physicians dominate the scene, there is one clinic where experienced doctors are making an invaluable contribution.

Dr Elias Abu Yaghi, a seasoned ophthalmologist, carries a remarkable story spanning almost five decades. As civil war loomed in Angola, Dr Yaghi found himself performing eye surgeries in the midst of turmoil. However, the escalating conflict compelled him to return to Spain, where he completed his ophthalmology degree.

In 1974, Dr Yaghi made the decision to permanently return to Jordan, bidding farewell to his position at a prominent hospital in Granada. Despite the passing years, he continues to practice medicine with unwavering dedication.

His vast experience and deep understanding of the intricacies of ophthalmology have proven instrumental in providing vital care to patients in Jordan. Dr Yaghi's commitment to his profession, even after all these years, serves as an inspiration to both his peers and the younger generation of medical practitioners.

As the medical field in Jordan leans towards youth, the presence of seasoned doctors like Dr Yaghi offers a unique blend of knowledge and expertise. Their invaluable contributions bridge the gap between generations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare to a diverse patient population.
