The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. Tejashwi Yadav Is Now Political Heir of Lalu Yadav’s RJD

Public got to see another political nepotism this Friday evening. Tejashwi Yadav is RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) chairman Lalu Yadav's political heir apparent, and the party made the announcement on Friday evening by selecting him as the party's official policy maker.

According to a declaration agreed by RJD leaders including MLAs on Tuesday evening, Tejashwi Yadav will be in charge of all political decisions in the future.

This is a significant step forward for the party ahead of a state-wide all-party meeting on a caste-based survey.

Former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Yadav and Rabari Devi were present for Tejashwi Yadav's enthronement, as were their daughter Misa Bharti, a Rajya Sabha MP, and older son Tej Pratap Yadav.

Lalu Yadav chaired the RJD assembly party meeting, which approved the declaration.

RJD chairman Lalu Yadav had previously indicated that candidates were selected "in cooperation with Tejashwi Yadav" on every Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council list.

Tejashwi now has the power to make political decisions without the permission of his father.

RJD leader Shivanand Tiwari urged Lalu Yadav, who has been ill for some time, to hand over control to Tejashwi Yadav, his younger son and the most politically capable of his children, this week.

When Bihar had elections in 2020 to elect a new government, Tejashwi emerged as an important player, leading the opposition party to an impressive score, but falling short of an absolute majority.

According to reports, Lalu Yadav intended to split his responsibilities to remove debate over who will follow him as leader.

An accusation against Tejashwi's older brother, Tej Pratap, is that he is resentful of his younger sibling's rapid rise within the party that their father created.

Tejashwi Yadav is a key force behind the caste-based census movement in Bihar, which is opposed by the ruling BJP.
