UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. Nearly, 40,000 Afghans and foreign nationals have been evacuated to other countries with the help of the UAE.

This takes place against the backdrop of the UAE's provision of support and facilitation of flights. It helped a number of nations and non-governmental organizations to safely evacuate their officials and support staff, including Afghan nationals, through the UAE airports.

Today, this noble legacy continues. Since the start of the current developments, the UAE made it clear that it will extend all necessary help to the Afghan people in these uncertain times. And that role will continue until Kabul regains calm and stability.
In this view, the UAE is ranked by all global indices as a top foreign aid donor. Since its establishment in 1971, the UAE has donated more than Dh320 billion to humanitarian and development aid to the less fortunate states.
