1 Billion Followers Summit 2025 Concludes with Groundbreaking Initiatives, Record Participation

 The third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, the world’s largest event dedicated to shaping the content creation economy, recently concluded with remarkable success in Dubai. Organized by the UAE Government Media Office, the summit ran under the theme “Content For Good” and was hosted at Emirates Towers, the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), and the Museum of the Future.


Record-Breaking Participation and Investment

This year’s summit attracted over 15,000 content creators and influencers, along with 420 speakers, marking its largest attendance to date. Over 10 investment funds totaling AED50 million participated to support content creators across various fields.

“The remarkable success of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, reflected in the growth of engagement among content creators and key players in this vital sector shaping the future, provides a strong impetus for further growth in future editions,” stated Mohammad Al Gergawi, UAE’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs.

Expanding Opportunities in Content Creation

The summit’s agenda was developed in collaboration with local and global partners, bringing together 125 CEOs, leading experts, and influencers from across the globe. Saeed Al Eter, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Projects and Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office, emphasized that the summit reinforced the UAE’s position as a global hub for content creation and innovation.

Comprehensive Agenda with Over 340 Sessions

The summit’s program included 340 sessions spanning keynote addresses, roundtables, interactive discussions, and training workshops. These sessions focused on three key tracks: economy, content, and technology. Discussions covered a range of topics, including building impactful content, protecting intellectual property, combating misinformation, and leveraging tools like AI and analytics to enhance digital strategies.

Groundbreaking Initiatives Unveiled

This year’s summit introduced several transformative initiatives, including:

  • The One Billion Award: Valued at $1 million, this award recognizes creators of purposeful content and drew over 16,000 entries from nearly 190 countries in just three weeks.

  • 1 Billion Pitches Competition: Offering $1 million in funding for innovative content creation startups, this competition received 500 applications from 40 countries, with finalists competing for financial backing.

The summit also saw participation from major social media platforms, including Snapchat, X, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp). These platforms collaborated to discuss the future of content creation, sharing insights on building impactful content and advancing the digital media landscape.

AED50 Million Investment for Startups and Entrepreneurs

The 1 Billion Pitches competition was a major highlight, allocating AED50 million to support pioneering ideas in content creation. This funding included AED30 million from Shorooq, one of the region’s largest alternative investment firms, and AED20 million directly from the summit. The competition celebrated finalists with innovative projects spanning education, technology, women’s empowerment, health, and more.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As the summit concluded, the fourth edition was announced to take place from January 9-11, 2026, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.

With its focus on uniting global content creators, investors, and innovators, the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2025 has not only set a new benchmark in the content creation economy but also solidified the UAE’s position as a leader in fostering opportunities and innovation in this thriving sector.
