UAE's National Pavilion Prepares to Showcase 'Abdullah Al-Saadi: Sites of Memory, Sites of Amnesia' at Biennale Arte 2024

As anticipation builds for the 60th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, the National Pavilion UAE unveils its highly anticipated exhibition, “Abdullah Al-Saadi: Sites of Memory, Sites of Amnesia.” Curated by Tarek Abou El-Fetouh, the showcase delves into the artistic journey of Abdullah Al-Saadi and his unique approach to creation.

Al-Saadi's process involves drawing, painting, or writing during solitary journeys, drawing inspiration from his environment and the companionship of books, music, or animals. This methodology draws parallels to the practices of ancient Arab poets, who found inspiration in nature and solitude. Through his artwork, Al-Saadi explores themes of memory, identity, and humanity's connection to the natural world.

The exhibition promises to offer visitors a thought-provoking and immersive experience, inviting them to contemplate the intersection of art, nature, and cultural heritage. “Abdullah Al-Saadi: Sites of Memory, Sites of Amnesia” will be on display at the National Pavilion UAE from April 20 to November 24, 2024, during the Biennale Arte 2024 in Venice.
