Experts in Organic Farming and Wellness Push for a Return to Traditional Agricultural Methods

At the second Sharjah Talks, a joint project of the Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD) and the Sharjah Government Employees Club (SGEC), eminent authorities on organic agriculture, wellness, and nutrition gathered. The 'Sustainable Harvest: Organic Agriculture and Nutrition Wellness' theme of the event emphasized the benefits of home mini-farms for mental health and family cohesion.
Saeed Al Rumaithi, co-founder of "The Organic Farm" and a UNICEF Climate Change Ambassador, stressed during the occasion that organic farming is the agriculture of our ancestors. He promoted turning underused areas of houses into small farms, emphasizing the value of microbiological stimulation and soil preservation for sustainable agricultural methods.
Expert in organic home farming Eman Al-Marri discussed her love of and enthusiasm for organic farming. She emphasized how home gardens boost pleasure and comfort levels, fortify immunity, and enhance the quality of life for families. Al-Marri stressed the significance of revitalizing the soil and utilizing regionally appropriate seeds.
When talking about the holistic aspect of wellness, Chef Luca Cobre of the Healthy Farm Eatery said that real health includes not only what we eat but also regular exercise and the use of herbs. He emphasized the organic movement as a return to safer, more natural farming methods.
The founder of Wellness by Dima, Dima Khalaf, placed a strong emphasis on holistic wellness—nurturing the body, mind, and soul simultaneously. In order to achieve full health, co-founders of Hikma Mahdiah Al Jed and Shereen Al Mulla emphasized the value of balance, herbalism, and a return to basics.
