The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy in Manila recently observed the International Day for Human Fraternity, highlighting the need of promoting ideals essential to world peace. Since the United Nations adopted a resolution in 2020, February 4th has been observed yearly. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the necessity of coexisting peacefully. The UAE's efforts, which culminated in the historic encounter between Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar in 2019, are the source of this project. 

The UAE's proposal to bring Pope Francis and Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, together on February 4, 2019, in Abu Dhabi, is the source of the International Day for Human Fraternity. The "Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together," which was signed at this historic summit, established the framework for a year in which the United Arab Emirates will be devoted to tolerance.
