The UAE's proposal to bring Pope Francis and Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, together on February 4, 2019, in Abu Dhabi, is the source of the International Day for Human Fraternity. The "Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together," which was signed at this historic summit, established the framework for a year in which the United Arab Emirates will be devoted to tolerance.
