UAE delivers 10 aid convoys to Gaza

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) is extending its cancer treatment services in the United Arab Emirates, taking a big step towards offering world-class healthcare. The Chief Executive of SSMC, Dr. Naser Ammash, emphasises that this growth is critical to their aim of providing top-tier care to patients. The newly opened radiation therapy department is poised to transform cancer treatment in the UAE and the wider region by providing greater convenience and access to specialist care.  

According to the SSMC, cancer is a global health concern, impacting over 18 million people worldwide and contributing to 9.6 million deaths each year. It is the third largest cause of death in the UAE, with breast cancer being the most usually diagnosed. These data emphasise the urgency and significance of strengthening. 

The extension of cancer treatment services at SSMC marks a watershed moment in the UAE's pursuit for exceptional healthcare, harmonising with international norms and providing a ray of hope to cancer patients. The ambition of revolutionising cancer care is becoming a reality as SSMC sets the path for innovative, accessible, and compassionate care.
