Reaching a new landmark, the United Arab Emirates has fixed number one position for itself as it distributes the most number of doses of coronavirus vaccine in the world. Last week saw UAE’s daily dose rate at 1.16 for every 100 people. Taking the overall data into consideration, the doses administered in the emirati nation are only second to Israel at 20.9 among 100 people.   Dubai is leading the way to vaccinate its entire population ahead of schedule as it has already started administering the second dose of Covid-19 vaccines--Pfizer-BioNTech-- to its residents.   The United Arab Emirates has started vaccinating residents against the coronavirus through various vaccination campaigns and till now, it has already vaccinated nearly eight percent of the total population with the Covid-19 vaccine. The official spokesperson of the UAE Health Sector Dr. Farida Al Hosani said that from the time the vaccination drive has started, 826,301 Covid-19 vaccines have been administered which equals 47,000 doses on a per day basis, which is eight percent of the total population further confirming NCEMA data given during the official press briefing Tuesday. "We aim to reach more than 50 per cent of the country's population during the first quarter of this year.   As the vaccination campaign in Abu Dhabi has started to fight the coronavirus spread, authorities are also looking at increasing the list of benefits that comes to people who are getting vaccinated and these benefits will help them to come in larger numbers. The regulations are applicable for volunteers who are under phase three clinical trials for the Chinese-developed Sinopharm vaccine and also for those who have taken both the doses of the vaccine shots and waited for 28 days for the inoculation to take effect.
