President Trump's Praise for the UAE: A Strategic Alliance Strengthened by Leadership and Friendship

As President Donald Trump gears up for his anticipated visit to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in May, his recent remarks about the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have sparked attention across global diplomatic and political circles. Trump, who has often emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relationships with key Middle Eastern allies, praised the UAE, stating that the country is "very important" and boasting of its "great leader." He also shared a personal anecdote, highlighting his interactions with the UAE’s leadership, mentioning a recent visit from the brother of the UAE leader, describing him as a "wonderful guy" from a "wonderful family." While these words might seem like a gesture of goodwill, they are more than just flattery; they reflect the evolving geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East and the role the UAE plays in fostering stability and promoting regional cooperation. UAE gets the crown for most desired nation in the Arab world ninth time in a row

Once again this year, the United Arab Emirates, has been selected as the most desired nation to live in by young Arabs.

The UAE has been selected for the ninth time in a row by people who prefer it over more talked about countries such as Canada and the United States of America. The 12th Annual ASDA’A BCW Arab Youth Survey released today, the model nation has been selected by 46 percent of the young population.

The choice of selecting UAE as their desired nation might be due to the increasing number of initiatives taken by the government in the interest of people. It is followed by the US, Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai also addressed the issue saying that it was painful to see that almost half the youth wanted to emigrate from the country as they don’t feel safe in the country. Just three per cent of Emiratis aged 18 to 24 responded they were either “actively trying to emigrate” or “have considered emigrating”. In the same age group, least likely to prefer emigration are Saudis and Omanis behind the Emirates.

The Sheikh also asserted that if the youth thinks that the government is corrupt, it would have ruined the country till now.  Every official is responsible before God, he added. Only one percent of the people selected ‘corruption’ when asked about their view on the government.

On the contrary to the claims of these people, UAE is among the countries witnessing the fastest development model. While addressing UAE being the most preferred nation among youth, the PM said that the country is for all and open to all. He added that the UAE has built a successful model and its doors will remain open to all.

The survey was one of the largest in the regions and included 17 Arab countries. The Emirati nation tops the list with people from other countries selecting UAE as their preference asking their country to emulate the model of the UAE. The US ranks second with 30 per cent, followed by Germany (23 per cent), Canada (21 per cent) and Japan (20 percent).

When asked what are the factors that drive them to the UAE, many of them (44%) responded with safety and security while work opportunities and handsome salary packages were also listed among the reasons for them to choose UAE.

What has also worked for the UAE is the fact that most of these people from the Arab world consider UAE an ally of their nation. It is being regarded as one of the rising powers among the Arab nations followed by Saudi Arabia and the US.
