UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. How Dubai airport is regaining the trust of travellers during the Covid-travel?

In an exclusive interview to Gulf news, Major General Pilot Ahmed Mohammed Bin Thani, Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief for Ports Affairs, revealed how the airport authorities are managing to operate during these difficult times of transit and how they are ensuring passengers convenience and safety.

Dubai has mashed to earn itself trust of the passengers travelling via Dubai or to Dubai with the arrangements made at the airport. The senior officials have asserted that due to the lengthy safety procedures in the airport, people have started trusting Dubai again with Covid-19.

Even though the government has released guidelines that were needed to be followed to tackle the pandemic in a more risk-free manner, the airports authorities and security was changed during this time of the outbreak. To ensure proper measures were taken, the security officials had to be given special training online and on-site so that they could behave accordingly when dealing with Covid-stuck world.

4,080 policemen have been trained by the Dubai Civil Aviation Security Centre at the Airport Security Department at Dubai Police in nearly 26 online and on-site workshops. The training was done in an attempt to ensure passengers safety as well as their own safety.

“Airports were key points to transmit COVID-19. It considers high risk spots. We wanted to make sure that security level remains similar to before the pandemic by training security members on protecting themselves while checking passengers,” Maj Gen bin Thani in the interview. 

The United Arab Emirates has been known to implement strict measures to curb the worsening situation of Covid-19. Even though the country has seen a  rise in the coronavirus figures, it is among the nations to have done the most number of testings. Also the medical facilities in the country have received regards from a lot of experts who believe that the Emirati nation is among the countries who have most diligently handled the pandemic.
