The Erth restaurant has achieved its first Michelin star, a significant milestone for Emirati cuisine and a memorable occasion for Abu Dhabi's culinary scene. Erth became the first restaurant in Emirati history to be awarded a Michelin star when the prestigious accolade was revealed in the second edition of the Michelin Guide Abu Dhabi.
The Guide also featured returning favorites Otoro, Almayass, Beirut Sur Mer, and T'azal among significant newcomers to the Bib Gourmand category, such as Al-Mrzab and Oii. At the awards ceremony, Rigers Cuka of Oii was given the Young Chef Award, and Chandran Thanggaraja of Kopitiam by Chandy's was given the prestigious Service Award. James Soo Yong Kim received the Opening of the Year Award at Les Dangereux.
Truly the food festival highlights the city's vibrant and varied culinary culture and highlights its attraction to people all over the world, not just locals.
