UAE: Abu Dhabi launched two campaigns for Covid-19 testings

In order to increase the testings in the emirate, Abu Dhabi has launched two campaigns in its fights against Covid-19 pandemic. The emirate will be beginning a preemptive testing drive in two of the areas within its boundaries.

This campaign has specifically been designed focusing on one the suburbs of Abu Dhabi--Baniyas and the Al Ameerah area of Al Ain. The campaign has been designed by Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee along with the Department of health and Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre.

The officials from the department confirmed that the move came to light after they observed a rise in the number of Covid-19 infections in those particular areas.

The department tweeted saying,“The step comes to bolster precautionary testing to curb the spread of Covid-19. The committee also calls on the public to fully cooperate with health authorities to complete the testing and to comply with all preventive measures.”

The committee also requested the public for supporting their call and cooperating with the health authorities to complete testing and to comply with all the measures that are being taken to prevent the virus from spreading any further. The Abu Dhabi Media Office announced the decision on Thursday.

The start of this year saw an increase in the number of coronavirus cases and that led the UAE officials to stricten the rules in order to curb the spread of the virus. On Thursday, the emirati nation reported the most number of deaths due to coronavirus where it saw 18 people dead due to the virus.
