The United Arab Emirates has dispatched its 18th aid aircraft carrying 40 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Lebanon as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign. This ongoing initiative, launched in early October, aims to provide critical food, medical, and shelter supplies to the Lebanese population, who continue to face severe hardships due to ongoing conflict. In close collaboration with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), UAE humanitarian organizations are playing a pivotal role in delivering life-saving aid to Lebanon’s vulnerable communities. The campaign is a direct response to the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with further guidance from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, and under the l

Haber Gaalu issues an apology after Information minister insults UAE along with other Arab nations

A minister from the Somalian government, who has already ended the four year term, had insulte arab nation and especially the United Arab Emirates when he had targeted nations who are against the extension of the term of the Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, who completed his term on February 7 this year.

A Sheik representing the tribe of Emiratis in Somalia, who is also incharge of handling emirati affairs in the country--Haber Gaalu--said that he will be apologising on behalf of the Somali Information, Culture and Tourism Minister Osman Dubbe for his remarks.

The minister is a part of the Farmaajo rule and is working in line with those who are forcefully in power even after their respective terms have ended. Farmaajo has been ignoring the election demands and has put the future of the Somali people in jeopardy and hence a lot of international communities are asking for Farmaajo to leave and let the election process be in place.

Gaalu said that being the head of the tribe, he would like to extend an apology to all the people who have been offended by Dubbe’s recet remarks. Somalian minister had earlier said that he stood by the decision of the Farmaajo government and the stance to not exit from power. Gaalu also added that it is possible that Dubbe’s remarks might have offended countries like Djibouti, Kenya and even the UAE.

He further said, “They have historical ties, and I especially mention the UAE, which has never stopped supporting the Somalis.” He also added that the Somali minister is unaware of the extent of harm his statement made especially to the relations of the neighbouring countries.

It was because of his greed to secure his position in the government, he went on to continuously hurt the sentiments of not only other countries but also his own people, the head of the tribe added while issuing an apology. “Finally, I advise this disobedient son to return to his senses, to withdraw from these stances, and to ask for forgiveness from Somaliland and return to it, to distance himself from imminent dangers emerging because of these situations.” he concluded.

Earlier this month, Farmaajo had completed his dictatorial term of four years but continuing his violent methodologies, the leader is adamant on not leaving the position and keeps ruling the country. Somali parliament on the other hand ruled out the possibility of extending the rule for another term.

This is especially bothersome for the Somali  people because they have been seeking a way out of the rule of Farmaajo who is known to have imposed strict regulations on freedom of speech and expression and made tough calls for media functioning in the country.

With this, it is possible that the country that is going through a political crisis may also suffer with security issues as there is no leadership currently managing the situations in Somalia.
