China vices against the US move to ban Tik Tok and Wechat

The United States banned Chinese application Tiktok as ByteDance roped in Oracle as a technology partner for its application.

The Trump administration announced that from Sunday night, these chinese apps will be removed from Google Pay and Apple Stores in the US. In a report by the Associated Press it was revealed that this order was passed on Friday on which Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said that the move is to ‘combat China’s malicious collection of American citizens’ personal data’.

Earlier Trump had warned ByteDance of banning the app ifit does not comply with the regulations set by the US government. While on this strict stemp taken by the US government, China’s Commerce minister said that it was ‘resolutely opposed’ to this decision to ban Wechat and Tiktok. Chinese delegation also threatened that it will take necessary measures against the US government if it does not act in the interest of these companies.

Tiktok has taken the matters to court where it complained against the  Trump administration saying that the reason to block the app was completely political. The popular video sharing app said the ban would violate the company’s First Amendment free-speech rights. The company asked the federal judge to stop this ban from being enacted.

Out of the two, Wechat faces more severe restrictions. It essentially an all in one messaging, social media and electronic payment application while Tiktok has been exempted from such severe steps till November.

Banning these applications means that these will not be available on the downloading platforms but people who have already installed these apples, can continue to use them. Android users can still download the apps but through APK medium but unfortunately for iPhone users, this feature is not available.
