"The State Department decided to approve the possible sale to Poland of 180 Javelin rockets and 79 launchers, as well as related equipment. Estimated cost is$ 100 million," it was reported.

From Washington’s point of view, the deal is in the interest of the United States, "enhancing the security of [NATO’s partner and ally]."

“The proposed sale will help Poland build its long-term defense potential in order to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the press release said.

The US administration has officially notified the US Congress of its decision.  The US legislative branch now has 30 days to study this new military contract and possibly block it.
