UAE’s Lifeline to Lebanon: 18th Aid Plane Delivers Vital Medical Supplies Amidst Crisis

  The United Arab Emirates has dispatched its 18th aid aircraft carrying 40 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Lebanon as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign. This ongoing initiative, launched in early October, aims to provide critical food, medical, and shelter supplies to the Lebanese population, who continue to face severe hardships due to ongoing conflict. In close collaboration with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), UAE humanitarian organizations are playing a pivotal role in delivering life-saving aid to Lebanon’s vulnerable communities. Trudeau and Zelensky discussed the situation around the crash of the aircraft in Iran


Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, during which he discussed with him the latest events related to the investigation of the crash of the Ukraine International Airlines plane in Iran.  This was announced on Friday by the press service of the Canadian Prime Minister.

 The leaders of the two countries emphasized the need for a full and open investigation of this disaster, so that the relatives of the victims could receive answers to all questions.  Trudeau and Zelensky also discussed the details of participation in the investigation of the Canadian side.

 The Boeing 737, which flew from Tehran to Kiev, crashed early in the morning of January 8 near the airport of the Iranian capital immediately after takeoff.Onboard were 167 passengers and nine crew members, all of them died.

On Thursday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the plane could have been unintentionally shot down by a missile launched by Iran.  On January 9, his Canadian counterpart, Justin Trudeau, said that according to Ottawa’s information, the airliner could have been hit by a ground-to-air missile.  US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo on Friday at a briefing for reporters confirmed that, according to the US administration, the plane could have been shot down by an Iranian missile.  Iran confirmed this information, saying the plane was shot down by mistake.
