UAE’s Lifeline to Lebanon: 18th Aid Plane Delivers Vital Medical Supplies Amidst Crisis

The United Arab Emirates has dispatched its 18th aid aircraft carrying 40 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Lebanon as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign. This ongoing initiative, launched in early October, aims to provide critical food, medical, and shelter supplies to the Lebanese population, who continue to face severe hardships due to ongoing conflict. In close collaboration with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), UAE humanitarian organizations are playing a pivotal role in delivering life-saving aid to Lebanon’s vulnerable communities.

The campaign is a direct response to the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with further guidance from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, and under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council. This collective leadership oversight underscores the UAE’s commitment to Lebanon and its people, reinforcing the UAE’s role as a compassionate and responsive ally in times of crisis.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organizations, reiterated the UAE’s unwavering support for Lebanon. He highlighted that the UAE’s mission is not only to provide relief but to support Lebanon’s journey toward security, stability, and resilience in the face of these challenging circumstances. Al Shamsi emphasized that this aid is a natural continuation of the UAE’s humanitarian mission, deeply embedded in its values since the time of its founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who established a tradition of reaching out to those in need around the globe.

With each delivery, the UAE renews its promise to assist Lebanon’s population as they navigate this period of crisis. This commitment extends beyond Lebanon’s borders, as the UAE has also been actively supporting Lebanese refugees in Syria. By providing essential supplies, the UAE is not only responding to immediate needs but is also offering hope and dignity to those affected by conflict.

The “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign reflects the UAE’s steadfast humanitarian approach, delivering aid without regard for borders, backgrounds, or challenges. Through its consistent relief efforts, the UAE stands as a beacon of support, embodying the true spirit of solidarity and compassion. As the 18th plane lands with medical supplies, it marks another chapter in the UAE’s dedicated mission to alleviate suffering and promote stability in Lebanon and beyond.
