UAE's Commitment to Humanitarian Aid: A Lifeline for Sudanese Women in Chad.

The United Arab Emirates just announced that it would provide about $10.25 million to be used for humanitarian projects in Chad. Such a provision shows nothing but the stand that UAE maintains in offering help to people who have been victims of Sudanese conflict. The whole idea behind this move is basically to assist female refugees and children, who normally carry the biggest brunt in times of crisis alike that one. Compassion and strategy mark UAE’s method of going about this where healthcare, psychosocial support as well social cohesion among others are focused in ensuring meeting instant requirements while at the same time empowering the society (for future healing processes).

There is no doubt that Her Excellency Lana Nusseibeh has been a good leader in leading the UAE’s delegation who have also gone a step further by getting involved with both the refugees as well as some of the community leaders’ issues. That is why this delegation has been visiting different refugee assistance centers, as well as the Abéché Field Hospital in Chad, so as to better understand issues on the ground and provide help accordingly to women facing challenges in conflict situations from UAE perspective. This kind of personal empathy helps UAE not only to extend relief funds but also contribute its ideas on how best they can use a combined approach for immediate assistance as well as long-term recovery within that area.

The UAE provides an excellent model for international donors through its active involvement in assisting Sudanese refugees in Chad in a world where humanitarian tragedies commonly remain unfunded and unnoticed. Through focusing on women plus children’s requirements, it is not just dealing with a humanitarian catastrophe but also building up vulnerable societies. Their work is proof of the conviction that a consistent tranquility can only be obtained if women are strong during conflict and post-war period.
