UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. Challenges Amid the Growth While domestic demand flourished, export growth slowed, with the export orders subindex dropping to a seven-month low. WHO commends UAE's urgent initiative to evacuate 85 sick and severely injured Palestinians to receive lifesaving medical care in UAE hospitals

UAE in Partnering wth the World Health Organization (WHO) have successfully evacuated Palestinians to Abudhabi. Dya before yesterday UAE have announced an urgent initiative of evacuating injured Palestine people, In accordance with the order , they have evacuted nearly 85 severely Injured and Cancer Patients along with them nearly 63 Family members accompanied are transfered through Karem Shalom crossing to Abudhabi in Ethiad airways. This is the largest medical evacuation outside Gaza since October 2023. 

By this initiative many Palestinian people who suffered in the crisis have received their treatment.All are taken with care.For this successful evacuation, The WHO Regional Director emphaiszed, “I am immensely grateful to the United Arab Emirates for evacuating sick and severely injured patients from Gaza and providing them with lifesaving medical care,” said Dr Hanan Balkhy, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean. 

This initiative is a clear demonstration of the intra-regional solidarity that is urgently needed. Support to people in the Region must start from the Region. Thousands more inside Gaza remain at risk without access to advanced medical care. I urge Member States who are able to receive and care for more patients to do so.

Followed by Dr.Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General said,  “We are thankful to the UAE for supporting the evacuation of these patients to receive the urgent care they need,” This type of humanitarian have demonstrates UAE's commitment in saving lives who are suffering in their vulnerable conditions and providing essential healthcare through their various humanitarian operations during challenging times.
