UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. Travel once again in jeopardy due to surge in Omicron cases

In the wake of increasing cases of Omicron all around the world, travel will once again be compromised as not only nations but airlines on individual level are coming up with restrictions to make safety as their top priority.

A report revealed that airlines are continuing to scrub flight on Friday as they feel infections will prove to be an immediate threat for the pilots and flight attendants. But because of this, the leaving carriers were short-staffed to operate busy schedules over the Christmas holiday weekend.

The airlines have also cancelled over 600 US flights as of Friday which has affected hundreds of contract based people. The decision has been taken to limit the exposure of people and ground staff.

Some of the European airways and rail operators are also properly addressing the grappling with higher premiums health issues in between the staff members. If the steps are being considered then it is very evident that the Omicron variant is of serious importance at the moment as it is highly transmillsble.

Amid the concerns about vaccine efficacy, nations are getting ready to implement precautionary measures in advance so that damage is limited to the best possible extent. However,  even the scientists are finding it difficult to explain what can be the extent of damage by the latest variant.

Till now, they have been certain about the fact that this variant is highly transmissible and most of the vaccines available in the market are not meant for the variant
