UAE Extends Lifeline to Sudanese Refugees in Uganda’s Kiryandongo Camp

 The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reinforced its reputation as a global leader in humanitarian aid with the distribution of 30,000 food baskets to Sudanese refugees in Uganda’s Kiryandongo camp. This initiative, benefitting nearly 100,000 displaced individuals, represents the second phase of the UAE’s sustained humanitarian efforts, which commenced in April 2024. A Lifeline for Refugees The Kiryandongo camp, home to thousands of Sudanese refugees who fled the ongoing crisis in their homeland, has seen its inhabitants struggle with food insecurity and basic needs. The UAE’s food aid has provided a critical lifeline, addressing immediate food shortages and offering hope to a vulnerable population. The distribution event was overseen by UAE Ambassador to Uganda, Abdullah Al Shamsi, who was joined by Ugandan officials and civil society representatives. Dubai becomes one of the safest cities in the world as it confirms installing 300,000 CCTV cameras


Keeping the safety of the civilians as its top priority, Dubai has become one of the safest cities in the world by installing 300,000 cameras around the clock. The UAE Vice President and his highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed on Dubai’s safety by visiting the Dubai police headquarters on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister of the UAE was also briefed regarding the artificial intelligence set up the unit and they also showed how the whole system works without human interference. Apart from that, the leader was also briefed about the police’s Oyoon project that monitors CCTV cameras set up all around Dubai.

He also expressed his contentment with the work Dubai police has been doing all this while. He also took to his twitter account to share footage of the time he was serving in Dubai police.

The Dubai ruler has his foundations of serving in the state as a police official. He was earlier appointed as the Head of Dubai Police and Public Security on November 1, 1968.

In his tweet, the UAE Prime Minister said, “Our appreciation and thanks to all the cadres of the Dubai Police, its security and safety apparatus. Thanks to the efforts of men working around the clock, people enter our country safely; our citizens sleep peacefully; and investors flock to it.”

Dubai has been living upto the expectations of tourists and visitors and even the residents as various efforts are being put towards to make it a safer place for everyone. The efforts have reached a stage when the city has become one of the safest places to not only love but also visit even for a stranger.
