UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. Challenges will best be fought with joint cooperation, says UAE

 


The United Arab Emirates has called for joint cooperation of all the arab countries to fight the issues in the region. The top officials representing the emirati nation stressed that the top priority of the Arab world should be dealing with the issues that have troubled the region in the past and some of them keep on troubling to this day.

The call was initiated by the Khalifa Shaheen Almarar, who is the Minister of State. He led the UAE delegation at the AL council’s 155th session on Wednesday in Cairo and talked about the whole group of Arab nations coming together for a common solution for the problems that the region is facing.

He stressed that the current scenario needs solidarity through the Arab world to be more effective while confronting the coronavirus outbreak and also meanwhile developing a successful mechanism to curb its spread which eventually leads to ending the crisis. The countries should come together to accelerate the roll out of vaccines to survive the health crisis, he added.

The minister also highlighted UAE’s position in various issues that the region saw in the last few years. Be it the Palestinian cause or the situation in Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Sudan and Syria, UAE has been supportve of all these issue and has been their for those who were the most affected during these crucial times. He also took note that UAE has a very strong position against Houthi rebels who have attacked on Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

He went on to explain that in the Palestinian issue saying that the UAE has been supporting teh cicvlians on the Palestinian state since the border establishement done on June 4 with East Jerusalem as its capital while also having international acceptence towards a two state solution for the country.

UAE stands with consensus of against hampering whaterve objects hamper the two state solution. The UAE minister further showed strength for the Kingdom which has been under continuous attack of Houthi rebels be it physically or on the verbal basis. He said that UAE stands against all the threats to its security for the citizens.

The minister, on top of all, urged Iran for a fresh round of talks, which have been repeatedly scheduled for Irani authorities to join. He added that it is essential to “settle the issue of our occupied islands of Abu Mousa, Lesser Tunb and Greater Tunb, or resort to the International Court of Justice.”

For Yemen, too, the UAE has expressed a positive outlook towards Riyadh Agreement so that the crisis, which is one of the worst humanitarian situations, defuses. UAE showed its firm stance towards a political solution in Syria too as the minister added, “ We underscore the importance of ensuring an efficient Arab role in support of the peaceful solution in Syria.”

Even for Libya, Iraq and Sudan, all of which are going through a political turmoil and are being taken advantage of by foreign companies. “We support Iraq against all foreign interference in its internal affairs,” he said on the Iraq issue and Iran’s involvement in the political environment of Iraq.
