There is finally some motivation for those fighting coronavirus as the phase III trials for the United Arab Emirates’s vaccine for the virus has started. The trials of the vaccine, originally made in China, had started last month and since then 15,000 volunteers have registered themselves for the human trials that are needed before the vaccine opens for the market.
For the first time in four to five
months, people are expecting a treatment for the novel coronavirus. Their
anticipation for the vaccine, which can be the possible fight mechanism for
Covid-19, is undeniable. A facility has been sent up in the UAE where the
trials are being conducted and the ‘Inactivated’ vaccine can be seen in
different packages visible to the public as kept on display.
With 15,000 volunteers, the trials are
attracting a lot of people who want to selflessly be a part of this whole
journey. The world’s first phase III vaccine trials reached a major milestone
when the testings completed being injected to over 5,000 people in the Emirati
nation. The trials are currently being managed by G42 Healthcare in
partnership with the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi, the Ministry of Health
and Prevention (Mohap) and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) while it is
developed by Sinopharm, one of the largest vaccine manufacturers.
The
selfless act of humanity of volunteering for the trials of the vaccine are
being applauded by everyone but more than that it is something that makes
oneself feel good about themselves as they contribute to a larger cause by
their role. The people who are volunteering very well know that being a part of
these trials and especially if the vaccine becomes a success story then they
will be a part of history. One of such volunteers thinks that it had been four months
that he had felt useful about himself but now he does. This being just an
example, there are many more who are looking forward to contributing for the
cause.
Even
though there is a long way to go before this vaccine is made available to the
world, the results are positive. People can already be seen doing what was
earlier advised--no panic. They are taking a sigh of relief and are hoping for
the positive outcomes. For those who could not contribute as volunteers need
not be upset, they can always talk to the people who have volunteered. This is
one of the important ways they can help. It was suggested by the health experts
that communication with people who have taken the test is necessary. They
should share their experience and the other end can be the one who’s hopes are
restored.
