US intelligence officials have confirmed that the whole Ukraine angle into ‘meddling’ with the 2016 US elections was a Russian making.
It seems that the July calls made by Mr. Donald Trump to the Ukrainian PM might just have helped to take the actual focus off the real problem at hand.
Official investigations taken on by the FBI have elaborated via a report that it is to be believed that Oleg V. Deripaska, a Russian oligarch that has ties to Mr. Manafort is one of the people that Kremlin relied on upon to spread disinformation about Ukrainian interference.
In the last few weeks, more information has been coming to surface over this matter. National intelligence officials have explained to senators and their aides that in fact, Russia has been engaged in a campaign for years to frame Ukraine. They have been wishing to pin the blame of Moscow’s meddling on Ukraine of being responsible for the hacking of the US 2016 presidential elections.
This information is actually going in the favour of the Republicans to buttress Trump and show his as victim to a Russian conspiracy, which actually isn’t that simple, owing to the fact that even if there is truth in this news, Trump has still used Moscow to manipulate election results and get himself elected in 2016. Republican defense received more weight as Fiona Hill categorically stated that Trump’s own defenders were using “a fictional narrative” that was actually engineered by Russia itself to suit its ulterior motives.
While there may be some truth in Trump’s calling the current Ukrainian PM and using his lawyer to aid the outcome, it did not bring to light up until now, the more dangerous plot being played by Trump and Putin directly to sabotage and frame the tiny Ukrainian nation.
American intelligence agencies and Fiona Hill together have informed the lawmakers that Moscow is believed to redouble its efforts as the 2020 presidential campaign intensifies. The classified briefing for senators also focused on Russia’s evolving influence tactics, including its growing ability to better disguise operations.
Whether or not it benefits Trump, is another point of discussion, but Russia is playing a sly game of trying to pit its adversaries against each other, while it focuses on securing more greener pastures in the Middle East.
