Reflections on a Historic Diplomatic Journey: A Farewell Message from Israel's Ambassador to the UAE.

After completing his unprecedented mission as Israel’s ambassador in the United Arab Emirates, his final words of appreciation are laden with a sense of success, and optimism on what is anticipated in the future for bilateral relations. When such relationships were developed in 2020, this was the starting point of a new stage of Middle Eastern politics, with the possibilities of dialogue, cooperation and understanding. The period of the ambassador’s service in the UAE is described not only in terms of the results of the last few years, but especially about the prospects for deepening different spheres of activity, especially pertaining to trade, technologies and arts. His term in the office has shown that there are ways to resolve matters, and it is diplomacy that carries the day.

The message of the ambassador also brings forth the challenges that awaits. Over the years, much progress has been achieved but the journey towards a permanent peace and stability in the region is not easy. The ambassador has been keen to stress the need for further engagement and collaboration between Israel and the UAE and the entire region. The parting words of the envoy highlight the aspect of working together to resolve global issues such as security, economic growth and environmental protection. It is imperative that both countries capitalize on the achievements recorded during his tenure so that the cordial relations develop into strong ties.

Finally, the ambassador’s thoughts offer a note of hope concerning the future. The difficulties that he has experienced personally and professionally suggest a change in the region that has historically been an arena of more conflicts than cooperation. As he says his goodbyes his last words convey an assurance that it is indeed possible to build relationships on the basis of respect and understanding. The evolution that took place during his turn in office provides encouragement for more of the spirit of diplomacy among future leaders. Samuel is optimistic though and calls for the importance to build on these relations in the years to come with also brings a sense of hope and peace to a region that has long been unstable and in want of development.
